Welcome to HEART TO HEART a Community Care Organization a tax exempt non-profit 501(c)3 organization serving Central Florida women and children since 1992.
Mission Statement:
Heart to Heart a Community Care Organization is dedicated to the needs of homeless and low income women and children overcoming difficult life issues by providing housing, supportive services and investing in their futures. We help women move towards self-sufficiency so they are able to live in the community independently with their children.
Homeless women and children are the fastest growing population in our society.
Not since the Great Depression have so many been without homes. Approximately 1.35 million children will be homeless this year and more than 200,000 of them will have no permanent place to live. Homeless families are headed by 84% women. These are the women we serve.
We serve a population in which 92% have experienced severe losses, abuse and violence in their lives along with poverty.
The typical woman is in her late twenties with two children and 43% of the children are under the age of six.
Half of the mothers do not have a high school diploma and about one third have part time jobs, which provide bare minimum
food, clothing or shelter to them and their children.
Heart to Heart offers direct service programs to homeless and low income women and their families. We provide professional case management, supportive social services, including housing.
These are the women and children that Heart to Heart a Community Care serves with success as they transition from poverty into self sufficiency, independence and the ability to live with their children.
